This annual essay contest is organized in an effort to harness the energy, creativity and initiative of the world's youth in promoting a culture of peace and sustainable development. It also aims to inspire society to learn from the young minds and to think about how each of us can make a difference in the world.This list of history awards covers notable awards given to persons, group of persons or institutions for their contribution to the study of history.It is organized by region. The entries name the prize and sponsoring organization, give notes on the purpose or criteria, and where available give the period in which the prize was awarded.Canada is a country that is full of rich history, diverse cultures and stunning landscapes that all merit conserving for the generations to come. For this year’s contest, participating classes must participate in a stewardship activity that contributes to the protection of the local environment or presentation of local history or culture.

Essay must be between 450 to 500 words in length and submitted on or before the contest closing date of Feb. 17, 2020. Entries must include contestant’s full name, email address, phone number and name of your school on the front page of your essay.
